About

It is the mission of the Maine Center for Resilience and Survivability to educate, train and provide treatment for law enforcement officers and their families. To achieve these goals the Maine Center for Resilience and Survivability develops, designs, and produce a wide range of educational materials including books, pamphlets, brochures, and cards promoting the health and wellbeing of police officers and their families. In addition to the in-hand products, the Center produces periodicals such as newsletters, announcements, and other publications. To ensure the Center produces the most relevant and up to date information and materials, we conduct survey research to test and refine our knowledge base.

The Center recruits subject matter experts to provide consultation and training experiences for police officers. The conferences, in-service trainings, and other training activities take place at various locations throughout Maine in cooperation with our stakeholders.

Part of mission is to recruit, train and supervise culturally competent therapists who provide evidence-based trauma-focused treatment.  Our website and e-mail activities are designed to promote the Center, raise money for the Center and provide a comprehensive resource for all of our activities, publications, external contacts relevant to and consistent with our goals, and a calendar of events.

We are extremely excited to bring these resources to Maine LEOs! For the first time ever, there is now an organization singularly devoted to the training, education and treatment of Maine’s police officers!

…this has been 20-years in the making!

Incorporated with the help of one of Maine’s biggest law enforcement supporters the Honorable John Richardson, an attorney with Moncure and Barnicle, we started down the long path to becoming a nonprofit agency. Sadly, John passed away before we were able to complete the IRS application process. In this life, John did not see our efforts come to fruition but from Heaven he no doubt looks down with a smile on his face as our progress continues.

We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.
